Minimalist Mirror Reflection

OUR SERVICES

About Us

It has been through experience, reflection, and sitting with people in moments of challenge and change that I have come to understand both my practice and myself. This work continues to shape me, just as I hope I offer something meaningful in return.

My name is Maya, and I am a Senior Social Worker and Founder of Social Bloom Consulting.Through my time I have worked in the space of Social Work, I have had the privilege of working alongside children, families, and individuals across the space of Child Safety, domestic and family violence services, Behavior support within the NDIS sector and within the family court system coordinating a Children’s Contact Centre.

These roles have given me a deep understanding of how systems and environments shape wellbeing, and have strengthened my commitment to more compassionate, inclusive, and person-centered support.

Being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult was a significant and empowering turning point. It helped me better understand my neurodivergence as a strength and continues to shape both my personal and professional practice. I am committed to supporting people in ways that are respectful, safe, and strengths-based, with a focus on early understanding and long-term wellbeing for individuals and families.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to compassion, authenticity, and social justice, creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. I am passionate about contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to be understood, valued, and the ability to thrive.

I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside you, whether directly with individuals or in collaboration with families, support coordinators, and others walking alongside them in their care and support

Still have more questions?

Our service is person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I focus on understanding each individual within the context of their life, relationships, and environment, rather than viewing concerns in isolation.

We work in a way that is collaborative, respectful, and non-judgemental, with a strong focus on clarity, care, and meaningful understanding.

We work alongside children, young people, adults, and families, as well as those who support them. This includes support coordinators, advocates, and other professionals involved in a person’s care and wellbeing.

Where appropriate, we also collaborate with services to ensure a more holistic and well-rounded understanding of each situation.

The engagement process is designed to be clear, respectful, and supportive.

It generally involves:

  • An initial referral or contact

  • Gathering relevant information through conversation and collaboration

  • Preparation of a clear and thoughtful report tailored to its purpose

  • Ongoing communication where required

  • A strengths-based assessment process. Where appropriate, we incorporate recognized assessment tools to support a clear and well-rounded understanding of each person’s strengths, needs, and circumstances. These tools are used alongside professional judgement, lived context, and collaboration with individuals, families, and those supporting them to ensure a holistic and meaningful understanding.

Assessment tools may include:

  • Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (Vineland-3)

  • Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)

  • Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10)

  • Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL)

  • Parenting Stress Index (PSI)
